Sarstedt, a provider in medical and scientific devices and consumables, has been selected to exhibit the Needle-Free Transfer (NFT) Urine Collection System at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange. Vizient, a provider-driven healthcare performance improvement company, will hold the Exchange in Las Vegas on Sept. 18, 2024.

The Innovative Technology Exchange

The annual Innovative Technology Exchange offers selected suppliers the unique opportunity to demonstrate their product or service to supply chain and clinical leaders from Vizient’s customer hospitals and subject matter experts who serve on their supply councils. Each product or service will showcase how it improves clinical outcomes, enhances safety, or drives incremental improvements to health care delivery or business models.

Needle-Free Urine Collection

NFT is a closed collection system for needle-free transfer of urine. The needle-free cup and collection container feature an integrated transfer unit with a pierceable membrane. Following collection with the Urine Monovette using an aspiration technique, the membrane immediately reseals ensuring hygienic and repeatable sample collection. The Urine Monovette then acts as a primary tube for transport, analysis and centrifugation.

The NFT system enhances safety by eliminating the risk of accidental needle sticks. Additionally, sharps containers are not required for disposal, making it a convenient and economical choice.

“The NFT system represents important progress in user safety and specimen integrity for hospitals,” says Brett Bartles, CEO and President of Sarstedt, Inc. “We are excited to bring NFT to the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange so that healthcare providers can learn more and see the system for themselves.”
