Here at CLP and Ascend Media, as at many other media outlets around the globe, we’ve been expanding steadily into the digital realm. This month marks our first venture into the domain of podcasts, featuring the latest news in circulating tumor cell (CTC) detection. Our informative discussion of this topic with Bob McCormack, PhD, vice president of medical and scientific affairs at Veridex, a Johnson & Johnson company, can be accessed on this Web site. Look for the podcast icon in the online Media Center, where you can listen directly or download the discussion.

The first three-part podcast series provides an overview of CellSearch® technology, including a recent discussion of a Lancet Oncology study demonstrating the value of CTC detection in prostate cancer patients, as well as the role of CTC detection in the personalized medicine landscape, including potential effects of the recently passed stimulus package and the future of the technology.

Scheduled for April is a discussion of sustainability and “going green” in the lab, with Millipore Corp. We hope you’ll find this format for sharing info on clinical lab developments useful and, as always, we welcome your feedback.

The past month also saw the debut of CLP magazine on Facebook. We hope that our presence on this free networking site will give you, our readers, a place to network, share ideas, and stay current on the latest happenings in both the clinical lab industry and CLP magazine. You can find the page by clicking on the “Join CLP on Facebook” icon on this Web site. We invite you to join CLP’s Friends group and to check the page regularly for alerts regarding new features, podcasts, and other e-media offerings. The Facebook page is moderated by CLP’s associate editor, Stephen Noonoo; please contact him with any ideas or questions at snoonoo.
