LGC Maine Standards, Cumberland Foreside, Maine, has released the Validate Procalcitonin (PCT) linearity and calibration verification kit for Abbott Architect analyzers. Supplied in a human serum matrix, each Validate PCT kit comes in a liquid, ready-to-use, multiuse format prepared using the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute EP06-A ‘equal delta’ sample preparation method, and offering five distinct concentrations to cover the reportable range. Users dispense the solution from each dropper bottle directly into five sample cups and run in replicates.

The release of Validate PCT enables clinical laboratories to complete required PCT linearity and calibration verification and maximize the reportable range while minimizing manual dilutions. Use of the product augments daily quality control and assists with fulfilling various quality control measurements, such as reportable range and analytical measurement range, as required under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and other certification standards.

The addition of Validate PCT to the LGC Maine Standards expanding portfolio of products demonstrates a continued commitment to manufacture high-quality linearity and calibration verification products that meet laboratory needs. Available Validate linearity and calibration verification kits cover more than 130 analytes, including anemia, cardiac markers, enzymes, fertility, general chemistries, HbA1c, hemostasis lipids, serum proteins, therapeutic drugs, thyroid markers, tumor markers, urine chemistries, vitamin D, and whole blood glucose.
