The CE-IVDR certified immunoassay instrument offers preeclampsia testing and biochemical screening for low-volume workflows.
Revvity announced the launch of the SuperFlex prenatal screening system, a compact immunoassay instrument designed for small to mid-sized laboratories and clinics. The system is intended to provide high-quality screening for facilities with lower-volume workflows.
The platform supports testing for preeclampsia, a condition that affects between 2% and 8% of pregnancies. Global rates of preeclampsia are increasing due to rising maternal age, diabetes, and hypertension. While international guidelines recommend screening, access has historically been limited to high-throughput centralized laboratories, the company says.
The SuperFlex system features an affordable instrument cost, a single annual maintenance requirement, and no reagent wastage during periods of low sample volume. The design is intended to minimize training requirements and integrates with the Revvity LifeCycle software for risk assessment and Laboratory Information Management System data transfer.
“This SuperFlex offering represents a significant addition to our prenatal portfolio,” says Anna Godenhjelm, vice president and general manager of reproductive health at Revvity, in a release. “By removing the financial and operational barriers to in-house prenatal screening, we are giving more women access to potentially life-saving testing regardless of where they receive care.”
The system utilizes continuous sample loading to deliver results in as little as 14 minutes per test. It includes a test menu for both first- and second-trimester biochemical prenatal screening, providing a random-access solution for decentralized testing environments.
The SuperFlex platform is initially available in markets that accept CE-marked instruments. Revvity plans to expand availability into the Asia-Pacific region in late 2026, according to a release from the company.
