LGC Maine Standards, Cumberland Foreside, Me, has released the Validate CM2 linearity and calibration verification kit for Ortho Vitros analyzers. Provided in a human serum matrix, the kit evaluates high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), and troponin I (TnI). Each Validate CM2 kit is liquid, ready-to-use, prepared using the CLSI EP06-A ‘equal delta’ standard for sample preparation, and offers five distinct concentrations covering the reportable range. Users dispense the solution from each dropper bottle directly into five sample cups, and run in replicates.

Use of Validate CM2 for Ortho Vitros analyzers will enable clinical laboratories to complete their required cardiac marker linearity and calibration verification, and to maximize the reportable range, while minimizing manual dilutions. Augmenting daily quality control procedures, the product assists with calibration and linearity verification of an instrument’s reportable range and analytical measurement range, as required under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) and by lab accreditation organizations.

Validate linearity and calibration verification kits are available for 137 analytes, including anemia, body fluid chemistries, cardiac markers, enzymes, fertility, general chemistries, HbA1c, hemostasis, lipids, serum proteins, therapeutic drugs, thyroids, tumor markers, urine chemistries, vitamin D, and whole blood glucose.
