The EchoTherm CO50 programmable HPLC column chiller/heater from Torrey Pines Scientific, Carlsbad, Calif, has a temperature range from 4°C to 100°C and is readable and settable to 0.1°C. PID control software regulates temperatures to ±0.2°C, regardless of changes in room temperature. A built-in stable temperature light illuminates once the determined temperature is reached and stable. The Peltier-based CO50 stores five programs of up to 10 steps each and can repeat programs automatically up to 99 times. A built-in column injection counter tracks up to 1,000 injections. The chamber size is 1½ inches wide, 15 inches long, and 1½ inches deep. Clamps can hold columns ¼ inches or 3/8 inches in diameter and up to 30 cm long, with room for fittings.
