Meridian Bioscience Inc now offers Merifluor® Chlamydia, RSV VZV CMV fluorescent monoclonal antibody reagents for rapid, accurate antigen detection.
Chlamydia provides rapid and accurate detection of all known serotypes of C. trachomatis and C. psittaci in cell cultures. CMV is a pre-CPE identification that provides earlier detection of cytomegalovirus in cell cultures. It offers 94% to 97% sensitivity and 100% specificity, and detection is provided within 16 hours of specimen collection.
VZV is a rapid, direct detection of Varicella-zoster virus in visicle smears, biopsy specimens, and cell cultures. It provides a specific differentiation of VZV from Herpes simplex virus of cytomegalovirus.
RSV accurately detects respiratory syncytial virus directly from nasopharyngeal specimens and cell cultures. The procedure does not require viable organisms, providing better sensitivity than traditional cultures.
Merifluor tests are designed for use where definitive antigen detection is critical.
