Patients at military hospitals and clinics can now access lab results, radiology reports, pathology reports, and clinical notes instantly.

The Military Health System has begun providing immediate access to laboratory results and diagnostic reports through its MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, according to an announcement from TRICARE.

Patients receiving care at military hospitals and clinics will be able to access lab results, radiology reports, pathology reports, and clinical notes immediately through the portal, eliminating previous wait times for test results.

The change affects all beneficiaries who receive care through military treatment facilities and represents a shift toward real-time result delivery in the military healthcare system.

The MHS GENESIS system serves as the electronic health record platform for the Military Health System, providing integrated healthcare services to active duty service members, retirees, and their families across military treatment facilities worldwide.

The immediate access feature will allow patients to view their diagnostic information as soon as it becomes available in the system, rather than waiting for provider notification or scheduled appointments to discuss results.

This implementation aligns with broader healthcare industry trends toward patient portal functionality and immediate result access that many civilian healthcare systems have adopted in recent years.

The Military Health System operates hospitals and clinics globally, serving approximately 9.5 million beneficiaries including active duty personnel, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, and their family members.

The portal access will be available to all eligible beneficiaries who establish accounts within the MHS GENESIS system and receive care at participating military treatment facilities.
