The collaboration brings together PAA’s laboratory robotics expertise with diaago’s distribution network to offer flexible automation solutions.
Diaago, a stocking distributor of laboratory consumables and equipment, has partnered with Peak Analysis & Automation (PAA) to expand its automation portfolio, adding PAA’s robotics solutions to address growing demand for laboratory automation.
The partnership combines PAA’s laboratory robotics expertise with diaago’s distribution capabilities to provide research laboratories with scalable automation solutions designed to streamline workflows and increase throughput.
“This partnership between Peak Analysis and Automation (PAA) and diaago brings together two driven and solutions-oriented organizations to leverage scientific expertise and streamlined solutions for the benefit of the research community,” says Jackson Hyde, CEO of diaago, in a release. “We are excited to provide flexible, thoughtful laboratory automation and to collaborate with such a forward-thinking, and innovative partner in PAA, Dr Helen Bennett, and the entire team.”
KX-2 Collaborative Robot Now Available
The first product available through the partnership is the KX-2 Collaborative Robot, designed to address real-world laboratory challenges. The system features continuous 360-degree rotation, a multi-link arm, and optional linear rail for enhanced reach and instrument access. Its fully enclosed design ensures operator safety and enables easy decontamination in BSL-2 environments.
The KX-2 uses drag-to-teach programming, allowing laboratories to automate workflows without complex coding requirements. The system is designed to integrate with existing laboratory automation platforms within diaago’s portfolio, including SPL Guard thawing stations, AFYS3G Sigma recappers, and Micronic tube handlers.
“We are proud to be in collaboration with diaago, combining PAA’s unique strengths, including the scientific review of methods for automation, with diaago’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions,” says Dr Helen Bennett, PAA senior medical science liaison, in a release. “As the demand for walk-away systems grows, there is a clear need for reliable automation in loading and unloading instrumentation.”
Expanding Automation Portfolio
PAA brings laboratory automation experience to the partnership, with a portfolio that includes The Smart Cart, Overlord software, S-CEL workcells, and S-LAB plate handlers. The collaboration enables laboratories to combine PAA platforms with diaago’s existing automation offerings to create customizable workflows.
The partnership allows laboratories to integrate the KX-2 with equipment including the SPL Guard Arizona and Florida thawing stations, AFYS3G Sigma recapper series, Micronic CS700 screw cap recapper, and Micronic DR rack readers. This compatibility enables laboratories to develop connected, end-to-end workflows using trusted equipment platforms.
Bennett says the collaboration will make fully automated solutions more accessible by delivering reliable automation for instrument loading and unloading operations, unlocking value for laboratories seeking to implement walk-away systems.
