Bio-Rad Laboratories, a global provider of life science research and clinical diagnostics products, has published the third workbook in a quality control (QC) focused series that offers Professional Acknowledgement for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.) credits.
The series is digitally interactive, allowing lab professionals to learn and pursue a higher standard in laboratory QC, according to the company. Bio-Rad’s QC Workbook concept is designed to provide lab professionals with the training and education needed to maintain reliable test results.
The new third installment, “Quality Control Process Optimization with Cost of Quality Application,” focuses on a practical approach of Cost of Quality to the everyday laboratory workflow process of quality control.
This workbook helps lab professionals identify and differentiate between prevention, appraisal, and failure costs in the laboratory and explains the difference between internal and external failure costs. It also provides details needed for labs to apply the QC process flow chart to their QC program. After using the workbook, laboratorians will be able to construct a basis worksheet to calculate the failure costs of a selected failed laboratory process.
