Verichem Laboratories, Providence, RI, offers medical laboratory professionals in clinical, research, and IVD product development settings an extensive array of liquid stable, protein based, clinical reference material for total and direct bilirubin assays. Intended for CLIA calibration verification of both assays with any “wet” chemistry testing system, the Bilirubin Standard Kit; the Tru-Zero Bilirubin Standard, and the extended range Level F Bilirubin Standard are certain to address the needs and requirements of laboratorians. In addition, the BR2 Bilirubin Calibrator is also available to be used exclusively with the BR2 Bilirubin STAT Analyzer from Advanced Instruments.

All of Verichem’s clinical reference materials for total and direct bilirubin incorporate a proprietary stabilization process, which negates the need for azides, glycols, or surfactants. This feature, along with a set point design using CLSI EP06-A linearity protocol, is critical for the determination of a clinical system’s accuracy, sensitivity, linearity, and reportable range.

Verichem’s bilirubin standards are liquid stable and ready to use and do not require any reconstitution, supplemental diluents, or dilution procedures. These unique clinical reference materials offer an exceptional refrigerated open-vial product stability claim of five days, along with a shelf-life claim of 18 months when stored at 2°C to 8°C, making them ideal for numerous calibration verification events or system troubleshooting.

For added product integrity, all Verichem bilirubin standards are filled into amber serum vials with rubber-lined closures, with each vial containing 5 mL and shipped in a convenient and ergonomically designed test kit. Direct and total bilirubin concentration levels of these materials are verified using pure crystalline bilirubin and analyzed by the Doumas reference method.
