Edwards brings storage and logistics experience as sample management company scales operations internationally.
Sample management company Astoriom has appointed Will Edwards as chief executive officer to support the next phase of growth across its international portfolio of sample stability storage, biorepository services, and validation solutions.
Edwards brings international leadership experience in the storage, logistics, and technology sectors, most recently serving as CEO of Spectrum Storage Group. He has led businesses through periods of rapid growth and operational transformation over the past two decades at global companies including Google and Bain & Co. Edwards holds an MBA from INSEAD and an MS from Stanford University.
He succeeds Lori A Ball, who has transitioned to a board seat with the Rochdale, UK-based company.
“Astoriom plays a critical role in protecting high-value scientific and product assets for customers operating in regulated environments. Will’s expertise scaling international companies in the storage sector and beyond is remarkable and will be instrumental in realizing the company’s full potential,” says Mark Hammond, chairman at Astoriom, in a release.
The appointment comes as demand continues to grow for outsourced, resilient, and compliant sample management and storage solutions to protect high-value research and product samples across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and consumer product sectors worldwide.
Edwards’ experience leading complex storage operations and scaling service-led platforms will support Astoriom’s ambition to continue expanding internationally while maintaining quality, compliance, and customer trust standards.
“Astoriom has built a strong reputation as a global industry leader for quality, reliability, and technical excellence in a sector where trust and resilience are essential,” says Edwards in a release. “The business has grown significantly in the last couple of years and is at an exciting stage of development.”
Ball, the outgoing CEO and new board member, says Edwards brings the leadership experience and strategic mindset required to guide the business through its next phase of global expansion.
“I am confident he will build on the strong foundations in place and continue to strengthen Astoriom’s position as a trusted partner for organizations that depend on the integrity and protection of their sample assets,” says Ball in a release.
Astoriom provides sample management operations globally, offering services including sample stability storage, biorepository services, validation solutions, sample storage design, and disaster recovery for organizations operating in regulated life science and consumer product environments.
