The new mobile application uses OpenAI models to provide clinical context and track health trends over time.
Labcorp announced the launch of MyLabcorp, an AI-powered mobile application designed to integrate laboratory results with clinical context and health-tracking features. The platform provides users with a personalized experience to help them understand diagnostic data and facilitate informed discussions with healthcare providers.
The launch aims to meet a growing consumer demand for accessible health information. According to a Labcorp survey, 55% of consumers view AI as important for understanding healthcare information, with 41% already using the technology to interpret lab results and 35% using it to understand test ranges.
“Consumers are increasingly turning to AI to help them make sense of their health, but trust and clinical context matter,” says Amy Summy, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Labcorp, in a release. “By bringing together Labcorp’s deep scientific expertise with AI, MyLabcorp is designed to help individuals move beyond isolated results to gain deeper insights into their health and support more informed conversations with their healthcare providers.”
App Features and AI Integration
Key features of the application include a mobile-friendly interface for tracking Labcorp test results over time. The app features an AI assistant powered by OpenAI reasoning models, which provides real-time, conversational explanations of results and lifestyle considerations based on the user’s specific data.
The platform also integrates clinically reviewed, guideline-based educational content across several health areas, including cardiometabolic health, mental health, digestion, kidney function, and sexual health. In addition to health insights, the app allows users to schedule appointments, locate patient service centers, shop for tests, and manage billing.
“At Labcorp, we’re investing in advanced technology and AI to make diagnostic insights more accessible, personalized, and actionable, improving how people understand and manage their health,” says Bola Oyegunwa, PhD, executive vice president and chief information and technology officer at Labcorp, in a release. “MyLabcorp reflects this approach by combining Labcorp’s scientific expertise with OpenAI’s models to help individuals better understand their results and identify patterns over time, all within a secure, trusted environment.”
The application is built on a platform compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act to protect personal health information. MyLabcorp is currently available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with additional features expected to roll out on an ongoing basis.
