The strategic alliance will leverage de-identified laboratory data to support quality improvement across 1,526 community health centers and includes a leadership exchange program for chief medical officers.

Labcorp and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) announced a strategic alliance to support leadership development, practice improvement, and community health initiatives across the network of community health centers in the US.

The collaboration includes the launch of the NACHC Leadership Exchange for Chief Medical Officers, a program designed to support current and emerging clinical leaders. Community health centers represent the largest primary care network in the US, serving approximately one in seven Americans and one in three people in rural communities.

“Community health centers serve as the healthcare home for 52.3 million patients across the country, and strong clinical leadership is essential to meeting growing demands for affordable, comprehensive and effective care,” says Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, president and CEO of the National Association of Community Health Centers, in a release.

The alliance establishes a long-term framework to combine diagnostics and analytics with the reach of 1,526 health centers. The organizations will collaborate on educational initiatives, practice improvement efforts, and evidence generation. They also plan to leverage de-identified laboratory data to help centers strengthen quality performance and close gaps in care.

The leadership exchange program aims to strengthen the leadership, operational, and clinical capabilities of clinical leaders through executive development, peer mentorship, and practical learning opportunities tailored to the challenges facing community-based health settings.

“Through our work with NACHC, Labcorp is investing in the future of community-based healthcare by helping develop the next generation of clinical leaders and leveraging laboratory data to enhance care delivery and improve outcomes for patients,” says Bryan Vaughn, executive vice president and president of diagnostics at Labcorp, in a release.
