The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces the results of the 2011 elections for president, board of directors, and nominating committee.

Robert H. Christenson, PhD, DABCC, FACB, Professor of Pathology, Medical & Research Technology, University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Md, has been elected President-Elect.

Steven C. Kazmierczak, PhD, DABCC, FACB, Director, Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, Ore, and Lori J. Sokoll, PhD, FACB, Associate Director, Clinical Chemistry, John Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore, Md, where selected to the AACC board of directors.

The following four people were named to the AACC nominating committee: Veronica I. Luzzi, PhD, DABCC, FACB, Associate Director, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit (Chair-Elect); Robert L. Fitzgerald, PhD, DABCC, FACB, Director of Toxicology, University of California, San Diego; Christopher McCudden, PhD, DABCC, Clinical Biochemist, Assistant Professor, The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, Ottowa, ON, Canada; and Shirley L. Welch, PhD, DABCC, FACB, Director of Chemistry, Kaiser Permanente NW, Portland, Ore.

All of the candidates will assume their offices in January 2013.
