The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) has launched its latest online certificate program: regulatory affairs. The eighth in a series of programs providing comprehensive coverage of select areas of clinical laboratory practice, the Regulatory Affairs Certificate Program addresses important issues for the laboratory including regulatory oversight, key federal laboratory regulations, state and private oversight and resources, compliance and Medicare fraud and abuse provisions, and reimbursement for laboratory services.

Laboratory reimbursement and compliance are affected by regulation at federal, state, and local levels, and laboratories must operate under very exacting conditions. AACC’s new certificate program provides comprehensive coverage of regulatory oversight, including issues such as: the development of regulations, their importance, and how they can be influenced, the important regulations affecting clinical laboratories, such as CLIA ’88, the key participants in regulatory oversight and development, the basic elements of federal fraud and abuse oversight, and how clinical laboratories are reimbursed for their services.

Participants may earn 10 hours of continuing education credit for completing the entire program.
