The new Eppendorf compact refrigerated Centrifuge 5702 R is available for low-speed clinical and research applications. The centrifuge has a maximum speed of 3,000 x g and the choice of fixed-angle or swing-bucket rotors. It accommodates round-bottom and conical tubes from 1.1 mL to 85 mL; 20 x 10 mL blood tubes or 30 x 15 mL conical tubes can be centrifuged without sacrificing bench space.
Other features of the 5702 R include:
– Easy-to-use control interface with a digital display of rpm, g-force, time, and temperature;
– Two blue-lit program buttons that provide quick recall of frequently used parameters;
– An “at set rpm” timer mode that starts the timer when the centrifuge reaches nominal speed;
– An audible alarm to alert the user when the run is completed;
– Standby cooling to maintain chamber temperature when not in use; and
– A Fast Cool function to eliminate long waiting times for the centrifuge to reach set temperatures.
