The Robobact system allows the automatic isolation of enteric and urinary pathogens directly from the sample collection containers.
The system is composed of three different elements: containers for sample collection; devices for colony isolation; and an automatic instrument. The dedicated containers for sample collection and transport are designed to reduce or avoid contact with the biological sample and can contain enrichment or transport media when required.
The devices for colony isolation contain a selection of two agar media, including a chromogenic one, and calibrated loops to obtain colony isolation. The instrument performs enrichment when required, streaking, and incubation in different kinds of atmospheres in full automation without the presence of the operator.
The system can improve turnaround time to up to 24 hours for stool samples, and it features 24-hour analysis of workflow due to the random and continuous access.
