The QBC Star Centrifugal Hematology System for in-office CBC testing uses advanced dry hematology technology with reagents contained in the QBC Star Tube.
It eliminates liquid reagents and their accompanying biohazardous waste and also the need for operator calibration and routine maintenance. The clinician presents the sample, presses the Start button and the system performs an automated CBC analysis. It measures nine CBC hematological parameters from venous or capillary blood samples including hematocrit, hemoglobin, MCHC, platelet count, white blood cell count, granulocyte count and percentage, and lymphocyte/monocyte count and percentage. Based on clinical trials data, the system has a projected three-year, mean-time-between-failure rate.
