The DiaPharma Factor X Kit for the chromogenic measurement of factor X activity in human plasma was developed as a tool to monitor warfarin patients with prolonged prothrombin times, and is also useful in detecting factor X deficiencies.
Prolonged prothrombin times may be seen in warfarin patients with lupus inhibitors and in patients being bridged from direct thrombin inhibitors to oral anticoagulant therapy. The DiaPharma Factor X Kit also eliminates the issues of varying sensitivities of different thromboplastins. The assay, which can be brought on to automated coagulation analyzers, was designed to be reliable, readily available, and easy to use.
