Gregory Sorensen, MD

Siemens Healthcare, Malvern, Pa, has appointed Gregory Sorensen, MD, as CEO of Siemens Healthcare in the United States as of June 1, where he will oversee the marketing, sales, service, and support functions across the entire health care portfolio, which includes laboratory diagnostics, medical imaging, therapy, and health care information technology.

Sorensen succeeds Randy Hill, who has served as interim CEO.

Sorensen will be based at the company’s US headquarters. He will also oversee the Canadian activities of Siemens Healthcare.

Sorensen is currently serving as professor of radiology and health sciences and technology at Harvard Medical School; faculty member of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology; and co-director of the A.A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He is a practicing neuroradiologist and active researcher with significant experience in clinical care, clinical trials, and translational research. Sorensen’s research and techniques are used by scores of centers throughout the world in phase II and III trials of novel oncology agents such as gene therapy.
