The new Advanced Quality Features, software enhancements to the i-STAT System, will help laboratories manage their point-of-care testing programs more efficiently and maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines. The Liquid Quality Control Pass/Fail Determination simplifies the liquid quality control (QC) process, downloads electronic value-assignment information, and reduces risk for manual errors. The laboratory can set upper and lower measurement limits for better control of test reporting. The Operator Competency Notification informs operators when their recertification is due and helps alleviate work for point-of-care coordinators in managing competency schedules for operators. Also, the Positive Patient Identification helps ensure proper identification by displaying the patient’s name, date of birth, and gender.
