One of the first plenary sessions at AACC will discuss the upcoming “Era of Genomic Medicine.” The event will take place at 5 pm local time on Sunday, July 15. Eric Green, MD, PhD, National Center for Human Genome Research, Bethesda, Md, will give the presentation.

Green’s research program has been at the forefront of efforts to map, sequence, and understand eukaryotic genomes. His work included significant, start-to-finish involvement in the Human Genome Project.

The session will enable attendees to list the major milestones of the Human Genome Project and describe its potential for improving healthcare, as well as describe the long-term vision of the National Human Genome Research Institute for the impact of genomics on human health.
