photoThe benchtop Coag-A-Mate MAX is an automated random-access analyzer capable of performing clotting, chromogenic assays. Immunoassays for the analyzer are currently under development. Continuous cuvette feed and two internal barcode readers allow non-stop testing, and the instrument’s software operation is suitable for laboratories practicing staff rotation.
Centrifuged primary sample tubes are loaded into two rotors. Each rotor works independently, and accommodates 31 primary tubes of various types. The rotors are removable for loading and unloading, and stat samples can be accommodated.
The cooled reagent block has 16 positions for reagents and five positions for control plasmas. A single level-sensing probe moved by a mechanical arm aspirates, automatically dilutes and dispenses patient plasmas and reagents into the test cuvette wells. A probe cleaning solution is used between operations to prevent carryover contamination.
The analyzer has a throughput of 180 PT tests per hour or up to 140 tests per hour in a variety of combinations. Photo-optical measurement is carried out at 546nm or 405nm. With optimized methods for routine clotting and chromogenic assays, low reagent usage, and around-the-clock availability, this instrument can bring improved efficiency and economy to the laboratory.
