Monolert Rapid ELISA Test for Infectious Mononucleosis is a sensitive qualitative assay designed to simultaneously determine the relative presence of anti-Epstein-Barr Nuclear Antigen-1 (anti-EBNA-1) IgM and anti-EBNA-1 IgG antibodies in human serum or plasma to aid in the diagnosis of acute infectious mononucleosis.
When the relative strength of the reactions are visually compared, acute/current mononucleosis (IgM response greater than or equal to IgG) can readily be differentiated from previous exposure with a causitive agent (IgG response grater than IgM) or no previous exposure to EBV (no detectable IgM and IgG response).
