AutoCheck, an integrated part of the ABL 700 Series Stat analyzer, has been introduced for complete automation of the QC process. The analyzer measures pH, blood gases, oximetry, electrolytes and metabolites.
AutoCheck eliminates manual procedures for measuring QC solutions on the analyzer. Time studies, performed by an independent consulting firm, show that the product reduces the time it takes to run QC measurements by more than 80 percent. More time can be saved if the lab is supervising decentralized analyzers. Traffic between departments can be reduced because the product can be remotely monitored and controlled from a central PC with the Radiance Stat Analyzer Management Software.
The AutoCheck module holds ampules containing QC solutions of up to four levels that are measured according to a schedule. Before measurement, the QC ampules are temperature controlled and rotated to ensure conditioning. The analyzer can automatically perform corrective actions such as repeating QC measurements or locking the analyzer in case of QC errors.
