Janet Woodcock In a speech delivered recently at the Personalized Medicine World Conference, Janet Woodcock, director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration, said that “reliable, discriminatory diagnostics will be the “foundation of personalized medicine,” according to New York Genome Center’s blog.

She added that despite considerable near-term costs, the long-term cost savings justify the investment.
