Saunders, Readfield, Me, a manufacturer of office and mobile work solutions, is offering several products with an antimicrobial additive that reduces the formation of bacteria and fungi on the items.

The antimicrobial products, mostly made from recycled aluminum, are for use in medical, health, pharmaceutical, food service, and other microbe-prone environments.

"We want to use all the tools available to us to meet the needs of our customers," said John Rosmarin, the company’s president and CEO. "By incorporating the antimicrobial product protection, we can provide the high quality that people expect from us and meet the growing need for clean and green products as well."

Washing does not eliminate the germ-killing properties. The antimicrobial agent resists deterioration from fungi, mold, and mildew.
