NI (Non-Interfering) Protein Assay

Unaffected by common lab agents
The NI™ (Non-Interfering™) protein assay, from G-Biosciences, St Louis, is a highly sensitive, colorimetric protein assay that overcomes interference of common laboratory agents present in protein solutions. The assay has a small 1- to 50-µL sample requirement and a linear response of 0.5 µg to 50 µg protein. It is unaffected by the presence of common laboratory agents, such as reducing agents, chelating agents, detergents, chaotropes, salts, and other agents, and is suitable for the estimation of protein during protein purification, electrophoresis, cell biology, molecular biology, and other research applications. Kits are sufficient for 500 assays.

Nucleic Acid-Based Diagnostics Kits

Select from more than 30 complete kits
Norgen Biotek, Thorold, Ontario, Canada, launches more than 30 new kits for nucleic acid-based diagnostics. The company’s new basket of diagnostic kits includes kits for the diagnosis of human pathogens such as HPV, HIV, HCV-1 and 2, HBV, Chlamydia, gonorrhea; food-borne pathogens such as Listeria, Salmonella, and Streptococcus species; and plant pathogens such as plum pox virus, Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Botrytis. The kits include all the components for the isolation of high-quality inhibitor-free nucleic acids, as well as the required master mixes and controls to allow for PCR amplification and detection. Currently, kits are for research use only, and are ideal for use in surveillance of drug-resistant pathogens, epidemiological studies, field surveillance of pathogens, and surveys.
