The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) will host a new Webinar titled, “A New Era in Down Syndrome Screening: Integrated Risk Assessment,” on Wednesday, December 7 at 2 pm EST.

Down syndrome screening seeks to achieve two goals: first, identify a population of women at high risk of carrying an affected baby and detect as many Down syndrome-affected pregnancies as your testing technologies will allow and, second, limit the number of unaffected women referred for potentially risky genetic diagnostic procedures.

Attendees of the Webinar will learn the effectiveness of the second trimester triple and quad screens, the role of first trimester biochemical screening and ultrasound, the issues surrounding "integrated" screening, and the emerging Down syndrome screening technologies.
