The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) recently announced their joint January-March 2012 schedule of educational Webinars for clinical and public health laboratories. Programs, based on current CLSI documents, are intended to help pathologists, managers, supervisors, technologists, and laboratory and quality consultants learn how to optimize practices and processes in their laboratories. Webinar speakers are subject matter experts from CLSI committees and working groups involved in creating CLSI documents.

Titles of upcoming webinars include: The Basics: Using CLSI Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing Standards; New Guidelines for Cystic Fibrosis Newborn Screening Laboratory Tests; CLSI 2012 AST Update; Using Receiver Operating Characteristic Curves for Assessing Accuracy; The Beginner’s Guide to Establishing Molecular Diagnostic Testing; and Creating and Maintaining Safety in the Clinical Laboratory.
