Siemens will host a new Webinar title, “The Role of Lactate in the Risk Assessment of Morbidity and Mortality” on March 20 at 10 am EST. The event will be hosted by Monet Sayegh, MD, MS, BS, MT (ASCP), SH, CLS, Medical Consultant/Senior Clinical Disease State Specialist at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

This Webinar examines disease states where lactate testing has been shown to add significant clinical value, reviews the urgency associated with assessing lactate levels, and discusses how to test for it. Special attention is given to the growing problem of sepsis where traditional physiological or lab values don’t address the need for early detection. Evidence-based guidelines for managing severe sepsis and septic shock, that have been shown to improve outcomes, will be provided.

This program has been designated for 1.0 PACE continuing education credit.
