The expanded partnership deploys the cloud-based HALO AP platform across enterprise laboratories to support emerging biomarker workflows and ADC pipeline diagnostics.
NeoGenomics has expanded its partnership with Indica Labs to scale its digital pathology infrastructure and accelerate artificial intelligence-driven diagnostics across its clinical enterprise. The collaboration aims to give pathologists, healthcare providers, and patients faster and more consistent access to advanced diagnostic insights.
Under the agreement, NeoGenomics selected Indica Labs’ HALO AP platform to support its digital pathology operations through a scalable, cloud-based framework. The vendor-neutral image management system provides an operating model that allows the laboratory network to integrate third-party or internally developed AI tools while curbing integration costs.
“We view this strategic partnership as vital to the future of integrated oncology diagnostics,” says Warren Stone, president and chief operating officer of NeoGenomics, in a release. “By scaling our digital pathology infrastructure with Indica Labs, we will have the ability to provide our pathologists and clinicians with more consistent, efficient workflows, while building the foundation we need to keep pace as AI becomes a core capability in cancer diagnosis and therapy selection. Ultimately, this is about giving the patients we serve access to faster, lifesaving decisions and informed care.”
Supporting Biomarkers and Clinical Trials
The updated enterprise infrastructure is designed to streamline laboratory operations and grant clinical clients direct access to advanced digital tools without requiring substantial capital expenditure, complex IT integrations, or organizational change management.
The expanded deployment is also intended to prepare the organization for testing demands tied to the expanding oncology antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) pipeline as AI-based biomarker applications emerge. In addition, NeoGenomics expects the system to support future AI co-development, clinical trial collaborations, and the expansion of its curated pathology datasets.
“This expanded partnership represents an important step in building the infrastructure needed for the next generation of oncology care. By combining NeoGenomics’ precision medicine expertise and scale with Indica Labs’ flexible digital pathology platform, we are creating an AI-ready foundation that can evolve alongside a rapidly advancing biomarker and companion diagnostic landscape,” says Steven Hashagen, CEO of Indica Labs, in a release. “Importantly, we believe that this partnership positions us to bring emerging diagnostic innovations into clinical practice more efficiently, support future AI and clinical trial collaborations, and ultimately give providers and patients more timely access to the insights that can help guide treatment decisions.”
Long-Standing Collaboration in Diagnostic Practice
The agreement builds on a technology relationship between NeoGenomics and Indica Labs that dates back to 2015. Headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida, NeoGenomics operates a network of CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified laboratories across the US, as well as a CAP-accredited facility in Cambridge, England.
Frontline clinicians note the operational importance of standardized digital workflows for specialized diagnostic reviews.
“Reliable image analysis is essential for accurate breast cancer diagnostics and treatment,” says Dr Beth Palla, head of breast pathology at Scripps Clinic Medical Group, in a release. “NeoGenomics has been a trusted partner in our digital pathology operations for years, and we expect these expanded capabilities to mark a major step forward that will directly transform our daily practice.”
The HALO AP platform holds CE-IVDR marking for in vitro diagnostic use in Europe, the UK, and Switzerland. In the US, the platform is designated For Research Use Only and is not FDA cleared for clinical diagnostic use, while providing built-in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and GDPR regulations.
