Diagnostic services provider Unilabs is expanding digital pathology operations across its European network by implementing Proscia’s Concentriq platform. Several Unilabs locations have already implemented Concentriq AP-Dx for routine diagnostic case reviews, with additional countries scheduled to deploy the software before the end of the year.

Connecting Laboratory Sites and Diagnostic Workflows
Unilabs’ pathology network encompasses more than 350 pathology experts and 400 laboratory technicians across 12 countries, evaluating approximately 9 million tissue sections annually. Concentriq centralizes these distributed teams, laboratory sites, diagnostic data, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications within a single enterprise software environment. Rather than restricting subspecialty expertise to specific geographical sites, the digital network allows affiliated hospitals and healthcare institutions across Europe to consult the broader network.
The platform architecture also aims to facilitate the integration of precision medicine tools into pathology workflows. Concentriq provides interoperability designed to help pathologists incorporate AI applications into daily practice as diagnostic testing shifts toward advanced methods, such as image-based companion diagnostics, according to a release.

Network Scale and Diagnostic Capacity
Across its broader operations, Unilabs employs more than 13,000 personnel and operates 1,300 laboratories alongside more than 2,100 sample collection sites across four continents, according to company data. In total, the organization performs 237 million clinical laboratory tests, 6 million diagnostic imaging examinations, and 9 million pathology section analyses for approximately 250 million patients annually.
