The program connects researchers with certified laboratories offering single-molecule PCR testing, technical support, and bioinformatics expertise.
Countable Labs announced the launch of its Countable Certified Service Provider program, an initiative designed to provide researchers with access to single-molecule polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology and technical expertise through a network of global laboratories.
The program allows scientists to utilize Countable PCR technology via established core and service laboratories. According to the company, the platform is a single-molecule quantification technology intended for research, translational science, and industrial testing. Unlike conventional PCR methods, it does not rely on Poisson correction or standard curves, which the company claims reduces ambiguity and improves sensitivity and precision at low target concentrations.
“By partnering with certified laboratories, scientists can leverage Countable PCR to supercharge their research using their own samples, delivering confidence in the biology-derived insights found in their data,” says Anjali Pradhan, chief business officer at Countable Labs, in a release.
The platform supports high throughput reactions, multiplexing, and single-molecule linkage analysis within a single workflow, according to Countable Labs. These capabilities enable the study of heredity patterns, genomic regions associated with disease, and the detection of rare events, fusions, and markers of genome integrity across varied sample types.
The program aims to shorten the time required for research programs to evaluate, procure, and validate new measurement technologies. Partners in the network undergo a training and validation process to provide study design consultation, guidance on technology use, and bioinformatics analysis, according to the company.
“We envision Countable PCR bridging the gap between digital PCR technologies and next-generation sequencing, for a fraction of the cost and far less complexity. Our CSP program is designed to help researchers utilize these capabilities to accelerate studies and power new breakthroughs,” says Pradhan in a release.
Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle is among the first to complete the program. The Genomics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource at the center has processed hundreds of samples for applications including library quantification, transcript quantification, and fusion detection. Its services include study consultation, sample processing, and data analysis support, covering projects from initial feasibility experiments to large multi-cohort studies.
Countable Labs is currently recruiting additional core laboratories and contract research organizations with experience in DNA and RNA inputs to join the network. Certified partners receive technical resources and early access to new workflows as the platform develops, according to the company.
