The SlideMate Thermal Slide Printer is designed to enhance sample traceability and streamline workflow efficiency.
Epredia has launched sales of the SlideMate Thermal Slide Printer (TSP), a new addition to its portfolio of slide printers used in pathology laboratories to identify and track tissue samples.
Engineered to assist clinical laboratories in protecting tissue samples and strengthening sample traceability, the SlideMate TSP utilizes thermal transfer printing to produce permanent labels on microscope slides. The system includes enclosed slide hoppers to protect samples from potential dust contamination and mechanical slide movement designed for smoother handling compared to gravity-fed solutions.
The printer features a compact design intended for integration into histology, cytology, and other pathology workflows. When used with Epredia LabWriter software, the system can interface with a laboratory information system.
The SlideMate TSP is designed to help pathology labs maintain consistent print quality while meeting high-volume demands, according to a company release.
In addition to the hardware, Epredia offers optimized slides for use with the printer, including non-adhesion slides and adhesion slides designed to maximize tissue adherence. These slides are available in multiple colors to help laboratories coordinate downstream activities.
The SlideMate TSP is manufactured at the PHC Group facility in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy.
