E Tech Group’s Sura Hadi will facilitate discussion on practical implementation and maturity levels of digital twin technology in laboratory design.

E Tech Group announced that lab automation expert Sura Hadi will facilitate an upcoming SLAS Technology Idea Exchange session examining digital twin applications in modern laboratory design.

The online discussion, titled “Digital Twin or Digital Mirage? Real Applications in Modern Lab Design,” aims to address where digital twins deliver real value and where expectations still outpace reality in laboratory settings.

Hadi serves as head of laboratory automation and Industrial Robotics at E Tech Group, where she leads integration of robotics, data infrastructure, and digital-twin technologies across the life sciences industry. With more than two decades of experience spanning biopharma, automation engineering, and technical operations, she specializes in designing automated workflows that connect physical systems to digital intelligence.

Three Maturity Levels to Be Examined

During the interactive session, Hadi will guide participants through three maturity levels of digital twin implementation, from visualization to intelligent orchestration. The discussion will examine how laboratories can bridge the gap between virtual models and real-world performance to create adaptive, connected facilities.

“Digital twins are helping laboratories move from concept to connected reality,” says Hadi in a release. “At this stage, success depends less on adopting the technology and more on applying it thoughtfully, ensuring the virtual model truly reflects how people, systems, and data interact in a live environment.”

As laboratories evolve toward data-driven, autonomous operations, digital twins have become essential for accelerating design, validation, and continuous optimization, according to E Tech Group.

Free Interactive Event Series

The SLAS Technology Idea Exchange series provides a free, interactive forum for scientists, engineers, and technology leaders to discuss trends shaping laboratory innovation. Each session offers an open platform to share practical insights, challenge assumptions, and connect ideas that advance life science research and development.

E Tech Group, based in West Chester, Ohio, was named 2025 System Integrator of the Year and provides industrial automation and systems integration services.
