The digital tool is designed to simplify quality control workflows and speed up decision-making in clinical laboratories.

Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced LabLink 360 Quality Assurance software, a new digital solution intended to help clinical laboratories simplify quality control (QC) workflows and accelerate decision-making.

The software aims to improve visibility into QC performance and help staff proactively manage operations. According to the 2025 Westgard Global QC Practices Survey, one in three laboratories experience out-of-control QC events every day, and 75% of labs repeat controls during troubleshooting, which increases workload and delays results, according to a release from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Automating Quality Control Review

LabLink 360 consolidates QC data and automates routine review steps. The software uses data visualizations and a centralized dashboard to bring QC metrics into a single view.

The platform also includes built-in peer group benchmarking, which allows for real-time comparison directly within daily workflows. For organizations with multiple locations, the software provides oversight across multi-site and referral networks. These features allow issues that previously required manual cross-referencing to be identified, prioritized, and resolved faster, according to the company.

“Clinical laboratories are being asked to do more with less,” says Anuj Dhingra, vice president and general manager, niche diagnostics, clinical diagnostics division, Thermo Fisher Scientific, in a release. “LabLink 360 extends our MAS portfolio into the workflow itself, giving laboratory staff the data and automation they need to focus on what actually requires their expertise.”

Integration with Automation Workflows

The software is designed to work with the MAS Quality Controls portfolio. It adds a workflow and analytics layer that supports integration with MAS Max Load & Go Automation Workflows, which are used in high-volume and automated testing environments.

Global availability of the software will be phased according to local regulatory and market requirements, according to the company.
