Anticipating an increasing demand for externally threaded tubes, Micronic launched its 1.10ml Tubes with External Thread. The 1.10ml tube with external thread capped with a screw cap has the same height as a Micronic 1.40ml tube with internal thread capped with a push cap, making it the ideal tube for users that want to switch to an externally threaded screw cap tube.

Using an external thread eliminates the possibility of the sample coming into contact with the screw thread, minimizing the chance of cross-contamination while improving sample integrity. The external threaded tubes are designed with thick tube walls for long-term sample storage and can be used to store samples down to -80°C. The working volume of the 1.10ml tube at room temperature (+21°C) is 0.93ml.

The tubes are standardly provided with 2D Data-Matrix codes. The codes are permanently laser-etched onto an inseparable black code surface on the bottom of each tube. Because the codes can never wear or fall off the tubes, absolute sample traceability is guaranteed. The 2D codes also have a human-readable code for additional verification. The triple thread of the tubes gives an excellent closure and horizontal placement of the cap to ensure long-term sample preservation and storage.

Micronic’s products are produced in a certified class-7 clean room environment at facilities in both the Netherlands and the United States. The company’s labware equipment is also assembled in-house. These tubes are available for purchase in bulk or in a Micronic 96-3 ULT Rack.
