Barrett, MD, Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Lahey Clinic was appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Barrett joined the Lahey Clinic as Chief Executive Officer in 1999, and is responsible for overseeing one of the largest healthcare systems in New England. Before joining the Lahey Clinic, Dr. Barrett served as vice Chair of the Board of Governors of the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota), and was a Trustee of the Mayo Foundation and a member of the Executive Committee.  He began working at Mayo Clinic as a staff physician in 1975, and served as the chair of the Department of Urology throughout the 1990s. From 1970-1972, Dr Barrett served as a flight surgeon during the Vietnam War, and became Chief of the Aeromedical Service at Cam Rahn Bay Air Base.
 
In addition to his role at Lahey Clinic, Dr Barrett continues to work as a physician, and is a professor of urology at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Barrett currently serves on the Board of Directors of the C.R. Bard Inc as well as the Commonfund. He is the past Chairman of the Massachusetts Hospital Association.
