The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) will exhibit at the annual American Association for Clinical Chemistry/American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science Clinical Lab Expo, to be held Tuesday, July 26, 2011, through Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Atlanta. CLSI will also present an informational session on Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Hanover Hall C, Atlanta, from 10:30 am to 12 pm. Janet K. A. Nicholson, PhD, president of the CLSI Board of Directors will host the presentation.

During the session, CLSI will provide a summary of the past year’s activities, with an emphasis on the capabilities of StatisProT, CLSI’s new method evaluation software. The session will also focus on the benefits of the CLSI streamlined consensus process for document development, as well as new point-of-care testing documents and the ways in which they have impacted laboratories.

In addition to featuring StatisPro at its session, CLSI will demonstrate its software throughout the Clinical Lab Expo. This method evaluation software has easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions, accompanied by tables and graphs. It faithfully implements the latest CLSI method evaluation guidelines, while promoting best laboratory practices by following CLSI documents referenced by The Joint Commission and the College of American Pathologists. With StatisPro, users can verify precision, linearity, and bias; perform method comparisons; verify or transfer reference intervals; verify limits of detection and limits of quantitation (LoD/LoQ); ensure accurate results; and demonstrate compliance.
