photo The CritSpin Digital Hematocrit Reader simplifies and accelerates the handling and reading of capillary tubes for CLIA-waived spun microhematocrit determinations.
It accepts the sealed transparent rotors from this company’s centrifuges. To minimize the risk of handling blood-filled capillaries, measurements are made while tubes are contained in the rotor. An adapter measures 75mm capillary tubes of various bore sizes from other suppliers. Glass or plastic hematocrit tubes are illuminated by fiber-optics. The operator aligns the sliding pointer to each interface and presses a single button. LED indicators guide the operator through the procedure. The digital display shows hematocrit values to the nearest 0.5 percent or in decimal equivalent to the nearest 0.005.
