photoThis company has upgraded its Spectroline transilluminators to make it easier for researchers to obtain the precise illumination for the clearest analysis of samples.
Researchers can select from 18 models that provide either fixed or continuously variable intensity. They also can choose from three UV wavelengths (312nm, 254nm, and 365nm) and dual UV/white light models. Included in this selection is the recently introduced SlimLine mini UV transilluminator that measures 11 1/2" x 14" x 2 1/4", allowing it to be used for photodocumentation of electrophoresis gels.
The UV intensity of these transilluminators can deliver fluorescent response to reveal trace amounts of DNA. They allow long preparation time for samples and intensity for sensitive analysis. A diffusing screen provides irradiance uniformity, which eliminates uneven light striations caused by the contours of the tubes.
These transilluminators are compatible with photographic, electronic video and digital documentation equipment. A LongLife filter glass helps prevent solarization up to 50 times longer than conventional filters. Several of the transilluminators also feature fans that keep the filter glass cool and eliminate sample damage due to excess heat buildup. The stainless steel filter frames are corrosion resistant and can be cleaned, which virtually eliminates the possibility of gel damage or contamination.
