The Gel XL Plus mini gel electrophoresis system includes power supply, migration tank and casting sets. The direct-connect power supply features four voltage settings (35, 50, 100 and 135) and a digital timer. At the end of a timed run, the current shuts off, preventing samples from running too far in the gel. Two casting sets are included to make 6cm- or 10cm-long gels. Reversible combs can be used to form wells for a variety of sample volumes. The migration tank and casting trays are molded of durable plastic, and the interlocking safety lid helps ensure safe operation.
The system can be used for a variety of applications such as checking genomic DNA, analyzing PCR products and for high-throughput plasmid screening.
