Clearview COMPLETE HIV 1/2

Results in 15 minutes

Inverness Medical, Princeton, NJ, offers Clearview COMPLETE HIV 1/2, a CLIA-waived, highly sensitive and specific, single-use, point-of-care test for the detection of human immunodeficiency virus. It provides a complete profile in one test for the detection of HIV 1 and 2, with test results in 15 minutes. The closed system collects, processes, and provides analysis of multiple-sample assay types, such as whole-blood (fingerstick or venipuncture), serum, or plasma. The three-in-one, self-contained barrel format provides 99.7% sensitivity and 99.9% specificity for HIV 1 and HIV 2 antibodies. It comes in a pouch that includes a lancet and bandage used for fingerstick collection, and offers a built-in control to confirm sample addition and proper test performance. The product has a 24-month shelf life (from time of manufacture). In addition to using multiple specimen types to better fit various practice patterns, the minimal sample size of 2.5 µL required for the product helps reduce sample handling and exposure risk, while being less invasive for patients.
