photoThe DF-1 differential micrometer head positioning device can be mounted to linear slides or stages or this company’s model 99 series subminiature multiaxis positioners using a finely threaded barrel behind the moving positioning spindle.
It provides accurate positioning of cameras, lenses, mirrors, part locators, end stops and other devices requiring precision alignment. The positioner is suited for precision lab instruments.
Coarse adjustment is accomplished using a knurled ring operating a 40-pitch screw that moves the spindle 0.025 inch per revolution. Fine adjustment of 0.004 inch per revolution is accomplished with an adjusting thimble located at the rear of the device. The spindle has a hardened ball at its end to reduce friction and wear.
The adjusting differential uses internal rings threaded inside and out.
