Quest Diagnostics has filed a lawsuit against a former employee for allegedly taking secrets from the company before getting a job at its competitor, Laboratory Corporation of America.
The suit claims that shortly before leaving the company, Brian Kiesche, a former account sales representative, downloaded a list of doctors that detailed the amount of business Quest did with each doctor. The list included customers with the highest volume patients of United Healthcare.
After resigning in December, Kiesche went to work for LabCorp. Quest claims that the information is being used at LabCorp to price products and services to undersell Quest and to target customers based on the sales data.
Kiesche denies the allegations and says that the information was available online and he has not shared it with LabCorp.
