The Center for Phlebotomy Education Inc, Ramsey, Ind, has recently released a DVD titled Skin Punctures & Newborn Screens, the latest offering in its four-part applied phlebotomy video series.

The content demonstrates proper procedures for performing fingersticks, heelsticks, and newborn screening collections according to the latest CLSI standards and OSHA guidelines. Graphic animation shows the proper location for fingersticks, simulates the affect of platelet clumping on specimen quality, and illustrates some key concepts.

The video includes CE questions for in-house continuing education and an option for submitting completed exams for PACE credit.
