Streck, a developer and manufacturer of hematology controls for the clinical laboratory, has introduced Cell-Chex Auto, the first body-fluid control for automated body-fluid analysis on the Abbott CELL-DYN 3200, CELL-DYN 4000, and Sapphire; Coulter LH750; and Sysmex XE-2100.
Cell-Chex Auto verifies the accuracy of the lower RBC- and WBC-linearity limits of the instruments’ reportable range. All three levels of Cell-Chex Auto are lower than the low abnormal level of daily hematology controls and calibration materials.
Cell-Chex Auto is available in 3.0-mL plastic cap-pierceable vials, and each level is packaged separately. The product offers a 75-day closed-vial stability and a 30-day open-vial stability.
Automated body fluids decreases turnaround times for most body-fluid samples by eliminating the need for manual hemacytometer testing by one or more technologists. Cell-Chex Auto is designed to provide confidence that instrument counts for patient samples are accurate.
