Dade Behring has launched a new V-Twin™ system designed to run the company’s Syva Emit®-branded drugs of abuse and serum toxicology assays, as well as the Perfect™ specimen validity tests. The V-Twin system is manufactured by Vital Scientific NV, Novitron International’s Dutch subsidiary, through an earlier agreement between the two companies. Dade Behring is the sole distributor of the V-Twin system, which is designed for the low-to medium-volume dedicated toxicology laboratory.
Features of the new V-Twin systems include:
- Twin design for speed of testing, with a throughput of up to 260 Emit tests per hour
- Mirror backup, allowing each platform to be utilized separately
- Positive sample identification
- Reagent refrigeration
- Liquid ready-to-use reagents and an extended menu, including validity testing
- The ability to have up to 26 methods onboard simultaneously
- Semipermanent cuvettes
- Bidirectional host interface for two-way communication with hospital LIS systems
